7,000 years of history
There are three UNESCO World Heritage sites in Malta: the city of Valletta (also European Capital of Culture for 2018); the Hal Saflieni Hypogeum and the Megalithic Temples. Visit the medieval city of Mdina, various intriguing museums, historic houses, gardens and vineyards. The plus side is that you can see many attractions in Malta in a single day thanks to the island’s small size.
A great family destination
Malta is a safe place with a low crime rate. The Maltese are very family-oriented, so you will have no problem finding family-friendly restaurants and attractions to visit with the kids. Shallow water extends far at Mellieha bay, the perfect family beach complete with water attractions. The Malta National Aquarium, the Splash & Fun water park and Mediterraneo dolphin park are top things to do with children in Malta. Malta is a popular destination for those seeking fun in the sun and has been compared to Ibiza on more than one occasion. Easy transactions
English is widely spoken throughout the islands and accepted as the second official language, so no worries there! Malta joined the EU in 2004 and uses the Euro as its currency. Three-pin British style plugs are used, so no adaptors needed, and driving is on the left. It really couldn’t be any easier for UK visitors and simple enough for anyone else too!
