With travel becoming more popular in recent decades, it is surprising that many people still can’t pinpoint this compact island in the heart of the Mediterranean. Although small in size, 316 km2 to be precise, don’t be fooled by the modest dimensions of this historically multidimensional, sun-drenched country. It is known to have been omitted from maps, yet it is a gem of a place rich in great weather, a glorious sea, a unique culture, 7,000 years of history, a vast array of attractions and a guaranteed good time whatever your interest.
Located less than 90 km south of the Italian island of Sicily, the Maltese Islands are the most southerly European islands and include three inhabited islands: Malta, Gozo and Comino. Here are some of the things you can expect:

The Malta National Aquarium, the Splash & Fun water park and Mediterraneo dolphin park are top things to do with children in Malta. Throw in several great hotels – why would you choose to go anywhere else?
Nightlife
Malta is a popular destination for those seeking fun in the sun and has been compared to Ibiza on more than one occasion. Paceville is the heart of the nightlife scene, packed with bars and clubs, including open-air venues. There are several events and festivals happening across the island while Valletta 2018 offers its own share of entertainment.
Wining and dining
High-end restaurants, wine bars and rooftop dining offer abundant choice for those seeking romantic escapes, enchanting settings and gourmet meals with lashings of local charm and hospitality in a fantastic year-round climate.
Easy transactions
English is widely spoken throughout the islands and accepted as the second official language, so no worries there! Malta joined the EU in 2004 and uses the Euro as its currency.
